This is a great story, well-paced and thought out. I don't understand your rating system in re : this chapter, however I'm of the generation that grew up watching film of Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal and D-Day (from about five on).

I enjoy what you've done with Hermione's dad and his observations about killing versus murder are spot-on.

Umm, this is more about your updates than anything else. They aren't showing up on the primary authors page, and they aren't coming up correctly on your updates column. I read chapter 12, but I can't find chapters 10 or 11. Also, nothing's coming up on the chapter index after this chapter.
I hope you can get it fixed! This is an awesome story and I want to read more!

I owe you quite a few reviews as I've just read all your works over the last several days! I really enjoy your style and the thoroughness with which you research - it really sets you and you work apart from many other fanfiction writers who are unable to achieve the depth you have.

Your piece on Olivander's Fine Wands has become so ingrained in my brain that I'm having trouble remembering it isn't canon. :)

I'm now waiting expectantly for the next update of "Great Scott Potter, This is War".

Please, please, please say that you have not abandoned this story (just noticed it had been a while since it was last updated.)

I was shocked and pleased by the notion of Filch being a handsome young man admired by McGonagall. Superb idea. The increasingly panicked letters from Hopkirk were wonderful, though I do feel terrible for the owl that died. Fantastic action scenes. The backstory is just one part of this that makes it so enjoyable. Excellent story. More please. Two main British terms for kissing: pulling and snogging. Don't ask me why.

I can't "neck" with you--I'm happily married and I only do that with my husband ... "tangling tongues" is also limited to him ... but a "smack" on the cheek might be okay. :-)

I generally don't leave reviews, but I absolutely -had- to for this story. 'Great Scott, Potter, This is War!' is one of the absolute all-time best stories I have ever read - it's gritty, it's real, and extremely believable. The Paladin Program fascinates me immensely, and the way you handle the varied relationships (romantic and otherwise) is simply masterful.

Avidly looking forward to the next chapters :)

Another great chapter, I can't wait to see what happens next... I loved that Harry fought an army of Death Eaters by himself...

I also loved that everyone was going on their true feelings, but doesn't that mean Harry loves Hermione, I thought this story "Great Scott, Potter, This is War!" was about Harry and Ginny, not Harry and Hermione?? Or was I wrong??

Great chapter. I liked the fight and the inter-species splinching.
As for snogging, I'm afraid that it's used because it's British. We snog - well, some of us do. Others get kissed by guys who think they're a washing machine, but let's not get into that.
Umm, occasionally the British 'pull' someone. That's generally at a party or in a club, involving kissing and sometimes groping, I believe. Not necessarily between partners, but good for drunken antics.
We don't use many words for it. 'Make out' is very American. I guess you could describe something as a 'pre-shag', but only if you want to be coarse. I'm sure you can work out what a shag is, other than a type of bird. Smooching is good. Canoodling is another good one, as it can be interprested as any other number of things. Then there's words like 'caress' and 'embrace' that can be manipulated into it (i.e. 'passionate', 'fervent', 'ardent', 'desperate', etc.).
Your British-isms are generally very good, and keep up the excellent work.
